Elaine Johnston

Elaine is an experienced life sciences legal professional and qualified solicitor. Prior to Verdiva Bio, she was most recently Interim General Counsel at Oxford Science Enterprises plc. Previously, she was General Counsel, leading the legal and IP team, at Gyroscope Therapeutics, which was acquired by Novartis in 2022.

Elaine was also SVP, Head of Legal and Deputy Company Secretary at BTG plc, which was acquired by Boston Scientific in 2019. She led the global team with legal operations in Europe, USA and Asia. She has also been a legal consultant at Abbott Laboratories and Biomarin. She holds an LL.B (Hons) degree in Law from The Queen’s University, Belfast and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Chester. She trained and qualified at the London office of Mayer Brown.
